Distributor original kalau boleh repair balik lebih bagus

Distributor Prado original baru memang mahal. lebih kurang RM1000. Distributor Mun Lee masih dipakai tapi workshop kawan di Cheras kata dia boleh buat balik. Kalau boleh buat balik yang orginal, mesti lagi baik. Nasib baik ada kawan Jason yang introduce workshop ni.

Walaupun 'baru', unit distributor baru buatan China dari Mun Lee memberikan masalah pada kereta saya. Hari kedua setelah dipasang unit distributor ini, lampu kuning dalam gambar di atas timbul apabila enjin sudah dipanaskan. RPM kereta jatuh bawah 1000 dan enjin akan mati. Bila nampak lampu kuning timbul, nak kena rev enjin baru hilang lampu kuning.

Baru-baru ni kena pulak cari distributor Toyota Prado. Distributor original yang ada pada kereta sudah bocor minyak dengan teruk. Pada asalnya saya bawak kereta ke satu bengkel di bandar Sunway. Dia cas RM50 tukar ‘O-ring’. Lepas guna 2 hari, bocor minyak masih ada. Distributor ni pakai pada Prado berenjin petrol sahaja.

So, this has become of K's 1995 Toyota Prado air filter aka air element in Toyota language. He discovered this during a routine engine oil service. Wasn't too please with the condition. The one in the picture above may well be the original one since it rolled out of the show room. Air filters are an important part of the engine. It filters out the contaminants that should not enter the engine (mainly dust and dirt). Typically a dirty and clogged air filter may affect mileage and engine power.

 Mr Ghazali recently had his Toyota Prado 90 series water pump changed. For a 22-year-old Prado, it is timely that the water pump gets replaced. Mr Ghazali kept needing to top up water for his radiator. The mechanic narrowed it down to the failed bearing in the water pump. Below are some details shared by Mr Ghazali on this part replacement.

The Toyota Prado 90s multi meter display is obsolete today, considering we now have new gadgets like handheld GPS and smart phones. Nevertheless, the console stares at you each time you sit in the car and it is something that will bug you eventually. The easiest solution to this is either to have it replaced or permanently removed. The latter is out of the question to most Prado enthusiasts. Mr ZZ had his Prado aircond motor dead recently. Driving in Malaysia and not having the aircond working can be a horrible experience especially if you are stuck in a traffic jam. The heat inside the car can become very unbearable and winding down the windows won’t do much to help either.
